A Tour to the New 7 Wonders of the World

We travel to the fifth world’s largest country – Brazil. The famous and popularized one of the new Seven Wonders of the World, a breath taking manmade marvel alongside Inca ruins of Machu Picchu that’s overlooking the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, is the Statue of Christ the Redeemer.

The idea first came from a catholic priest by the name of Pedro Maria Boss, who requested from Princess Isabel to finance a large religious monument to be built in the city. However, the monument was not built because the idea was dismissed; it was not until the year 1921 that another catholic circle of Rio appealed to the public for support for the proposed religious monument.

Today the statue is visited by thousand of tourists and devoted catholic alike, sitting atop of the Corcovado Mountain, this beautiful face of Rio de Janeiro has admired and mesmerized people that laid eyes on the monument of faith.

This 124-foot statue of Jesus was built of reinforced concrete, and the outer layers were made of soapstone, this was chosen due its enduring quality and ease of use.

Jesus the Redeemer of Rio de Janeiro has become a focal point, which will give you a true beautiful sight to one of the most beautiful cities around the globe.
