A Tour of Italy: Top 3 Cities

As one of the most beautiful countries in the world, Italy is notorious for its culture, heritage and history opportunities, making it incredibly popular with tourists and sightseers the world over. If you’re hoping to head to Italy this Easter, there are five cities that should be firmly on your list of holiday options.

With flights from Manchester running frequently, head for the airport and book your car into the airport parking Manchester offers. Affordable and convenient, you will be a few yards from the terminal and one step closer to your well-earned break.

Jam packed with history everywhere you look, it’s difficult to choose which city you’d like to see more of, but if you’re looking for some inspiration, here are three of the best.

Scenes from Rome Italy

The Italian capital is steeped in thousands of years of history – Rome successfully fuses both ancient and modern attributes to create one of the most impressive and beautiful cities in the world.

From the Coliseum and the Pantheon to the Spanish Steps, the Sistine Chapel and Vatican City, if you’re a culture vulture, you’re in the right place. Throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain and, if possible, take a tour of the catacombs for a side of Rome you don’t normally have the chance to see.

If you want to enjoy an extravagant shopping spree during your trip to Italy, Milan is the place to go. Dress up and take a trip to the opera for a sensational evening.

If you need a dose of culture, Leonardo Da Vinci’s The Last Supper can be found at the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie.

Registered as a UNESCO site, Florence is simply breathtaking. Seamlessly combining beautiful architecture, culture, shopping and Chianti, Florence is an absolute must-see that visitors Italy shouldn’t overlook.

Take advantage of Manchester Terminal 2 parking and enjoy a brief flight to Italy to appreciate some simply incredible sights for a memorable culture-fuelled trip.

  1. Rome and Florence are beautiful cities but it looks like I need to pay a trip to Milan. Just a bit worried I may like the designer clothes that I find there a bit too much. Lovely photo of the Colliseum.
